Great Russian Nutcracker Auditions are Coming to a City Near You
The Moscow Ballet is coming to a city near you in search of young talent to fill several roles in its annual performance of The Great Russian Nutcracker later this year. If dancing—particularly ballet—is your passion, this is a rare opportunity not to be missed.
The auditions, to be held across the U.S. and Canada, are run with the help of local dance studios, making it easy for students there to take part in the Moscow Ballet process. In many of the cities, world-traveled Russian ballet soloist dancers— Nataliya Miroshnyk, Tatiana Casian, Anna Tyutyunnyk and Svetlana Todinova—conduct the auditions. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to not only meet these extremely talented dancers, but to learn one-on-one from them.
Moscow Ballet teachers are warm and friendly, and will always take the time to work with students individually.
Auditioning allows you to show off your talents and skills, in addition to showcasing your creative expression, self-discipline, poise and grace. Your abilities will be recognized.
Auditions also serve as an evaluative tool, allowing dancers to refine their skills. Such evaluation can reinforce those existing high-quality skills and talent, too. Dancers learn what they can do better and how to achieve that skill as well as what they’re doing well. To that end, the experience can enhance auditioning dancers’ confidence and self-esteem. You will definitely leave the audition with valuable lessons and an experience that will enhance your skills as a dancer, whether it’s solely from the experience of auditioning or the experience of being a part of the performance.
Auditioning, particularly for those of you planning to pursue a dancing career beyond classes at your local studio, provides some training and preparation for “real-life” auditions, as well. Those participating learn how to carry themselves. They learn the audition process and what to expect.

It’s a whimsical ballet complete with a royal family of mice, snowflake princesses and magical dancers from countries across the globe. If you’re cast in the performance, you’ll be working alongside a whole troupe of talented, experienced and incredible ballet dancers. You’ll be backstage during the performance, too, and see everything behind the scenes as it happens.
