NUTCRACKER! Magical Christmas Ballet Audition Director and Soloist Bogdana Кopiy

Bogdana Кopiy has performed with NUTCRACKER! Magical Christmas Ballet for three tours. When Bogdana was 5 years old, her mother brought her one pointe shoe and she immediately tried to stand on it leaning against the table. This is how the story of Ballerina Bogdana began to evolve into the daily life of a professional ballerina. 

Youth Ballet School in the city of Lviv and went on to continue her Ballet and Classic Choreography studies at the historic Lviv National University of Culture and Arts, where she received her degree as Ballet Artist and Dance Educator. Bogdana went on to obtain a Specialist Diploma in Choreography from Ivan Franko National University, named after the Lviv’s famous poet and political activist. In 2017 at the Faculty of Culture and Arts, Department of Choreography she successfully created a diploma performance “Only Dance Makes Music Visible.”  Bogdana is also a young choreographer. She loves to create a new choreography and work with dancers. She has participated in ballet competitions and performed in ballets at the Lviv National Academic Theater of Opera and Ballet, a 100+ year old institution located in the historic Old City proper. Bogdana is world traveled and speaks French, Ukrainian, Russian, English, and Polish.

Bogdana’s performing experience runs the gamut of the classic ballet stories. She performs as Little Swan in Swan Lake as well as the Hungarian Dance, Dance of Brides, Mazurka, Neapolitan Dance, and Pas Deux Trois.  She has also danced as Princess, Soldiers, Snowflake and more in the Nutcracker; the Cat in Sleeping Beauty as well as more roles in La Bayadere, Scheherazade, Polovtsian Plyaskas, Paquita, Giselle, Coppelia, Romeo and Juliet, Le Corsair, Don Quixote and Snow White while touring around the world, from China through Europe to Canada.

Roberta Maresca

Roberta Maresca

Roberta started her formal dance training in 2009 at Rome’s Accademia Nazionale di Danza. In 2015, she graduated from Escuela Nacional de Ballet Fernando Alonso in Cuba. She speaks Italian, Spanish, and English and majored in classic literature while in high school at Convitto Nazionale Emanuele II, Roma.
