Welcome to the home of NUTCRACKER! Magical Christmas Ballet in Longview, TX: The LeTourneau University Belcher Center. The S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center at LeTourneau University is the premier performance center for the city of Longview, Texas, and surrounding communities. With world-class acoustics and staging, the center attracts shows that Longview residents would not be able to see without traveling many miles. Designed by professionals in architecture and theater design, the center opened in 2007 and features 1,400 seats on the ground level and another 600 seats in two, opera-style balconies. The building features a full working stage and orchestra lift, as well as prop and staging areas, dressing rooms, soundproofed rehearsal rooms, classrooms and offices. It is the largest single-building capital campaign in LeTourneau University’s 63-year history.

Longview Partner Ballet Studio: The Tina Grider School of Dance

Nutcracker wouldn’t be Nutcracker without the local Children’s cast! Dancing along side the full professional Russian cast are local Longview children from The Tina Grider School of Dance. The Tina Grider School of Dance was established in 1986. The school offers training in tap, pointe, ballet, jazz, hip hop, lyrical, drill team prep and competitive dance team. They provide students an opportunity to study dance for personal satisfaction in a supportive environment. Students progress at their own pace to improve physical strength, flexibility, coordination, and body alignment. The Tina Grider School of Dance also offers four selective Competitive Dance Teams, consisting of Elementary, Intermediate, Junior, and Senior teams. Members audition for positions on these teams and enter competitions all over East Texas. Their teams have won numerous awards during the past 17 years. Many other students of the studio also have won awards, joined drill teams and been named drill team officers in the past years.
