The Theater
Kings Theatre in Brooklyn
Welcome to the home of NUTCRACKER! Magical Christmas Ballet in Brooklyn: Kings Theatre! Nearly two years after its extensive restoration was announced, the historic Kings Theatre reopened in February 2015 with its first concert with Diana Ross. Deputy Mayor Alicia Glen said, “A milestone for the Flatbush community.” Built in 1929, the Kings Theatre is the largest indoor theater in Brooklyn with over 3,000 seats. It closed in 1977 and was acquired by the city in 1983. The $95 million work has made sure its grand flourishes—inspired by Versailles and the Paris Opera House, no less—are glowing, with original fixtures such as chandeliers restored, new carpets, tapestries and curtains, all based on archival photographs.
The venue offers a wide spectrum of programming from local, national and international performing artists, with more than 200 performances annually. David Anderson—president for ACE Theatrical Group, the company that is operating the theater—said, “The Kings Theatre is now once again an integral part of this community, after being lost to the city for so long. We are so proud to welcome New Yorkers back to the Kings and we thank the community for its incredible support of the revitalization project.”
NUTCRACKER! Magical Christmas Ballet is honored to present in Brooklyn at the historic and stunningly restored Kings Theatre, and to be a member of the Brooklyn Chamber of Commerce.

Partner Studio
Brooklyn Partner Ballet Studios: Brighton Ballet Theatre
NUTCRACKER! wouldn’t be NUTCRACKER! without the local Children’s cast! Dancing alongside the full international professional cast are local New York children.
Brighton Ballet Theatre (BBT) was established in 1987 and is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving and developing Russian classical and folk dance traditions in New York City. BBT is situated in the heart of the Russian cultural district of Brooklyn, in the Brighton Beach/Manhattan Beach area, where they offer affordable, professional dance instruction and performances on the campus of Kingsborough Community College. More than 400 students from diverse backgrounds attend BBT each year to learn the art of ballet and dance. BBT’s well-rounded curriculum is founded on the Vaganova (Russian) Method, a ballet training system not only for correct technique, but also for proper disposition. Students may also pursue classes in character dance, contemporary dance, international folk dance, jazz dance, and more. Under the care and guidance of BBT’s International faculty, who graduated from the best ballet schools and colleges and have performed with the most prestigious ballet companies of Russia, Ukraine, and the USA, student dancers gain the skills they need for life-long health, creativity, self-discipline, personal responsibility and professional success.
