Welcome to the home of NUTCRACKER! Magical Christmas Ballet in Redding: The Redding Civic Auditorium. Previously known as the Redding Convention Center, the Redding Civic Auditorium is located near downtown Redding in an open space, surrounded by the beautiful Sacramento River, the Turtle Bay Exploration Park, and the magnificent Sundial Bridge. It accommodates over 2,000 people in plush, cushioned seats. The downstairs area, which consists of orchestra and dress circle, contains 1200 seats. The balconies, which seat people on both the sides and the rear of the theater, have a seating capacity of 822. The city of Redding, in the county of Shasta, is located at the northern tip of the Central Valley, 160 miles north of Sacramento, with Interstate 5 running through the heart of Redding and Shasta County. Nutcracker wouldn’t be Nutcracker without the local Children’s cast! Dancing along side the full professional Russian cast are local Redding children from the California Dance Company. The mission of California Dance Company is to bring a love of dance to all ages by sharing its beauty, power, and vision in fresh and unique ways. The school encourages students to take a dance style they haven’t tried before, find a fun new way to get fit, make new friends, and improve skills in all disciplines, offering classes for everyone! Whether a student wants to dance for fun and fitness or is committed to taking skills and passion to the highest levels possible, instructors can help achieve goals. The teachers are all seasoned professionals and performers with a commitment to make each dancer the best they can be. The school instructs students all ages, from 2 to 92, and encourages everyone to attend and share their love of dance.

FAQ For Friends and Family Tickets

Do we get special seats this year?

Seats have been held for the Friends and Family of children in the show. Your ticket orders will be pulled from those areas.

How should we buy those tickets?

After the local audition, Friends and Family will receive an email with a special link for the show. This year, please buy directly online with the special link sent to you.

After I buy, when will we get the tickets?

As in past years, this process can take a bit of time. It can take up to a month, but don’t worry because those tickets are held just for you! If you have questions, please email [email protected] and our team will assist you.

Can I give my friends this special link?

Yes! you may share that link with anyone who wants to see your child dance!

Do we get a discount like in past years?

Yes! There is a 23% discount built into your special link!

I’m not sure what performance time my child will be cast in. Can I buy the tickets now and get moved to another show if needed?

Please wait to purchase until you know which showtime your child will perform. We cannot move seats once they have been confirmed.
