Nutcracker Village is a public art project that brings about new traditions, supports local art communities, and raises awareness for local businesses. From November to December, Rosemont residents will have the opportunity to explore an outdoor village, featuring four to six-foot Nutcrackers, each custom-designed by local artists. Sponsored by a local business, artists will choose a theme and an array of unique materials to transform their Nutcracker into a one-of-a-kind work of art. Simultaneously, businesses and members of the community can bid at auction to take home one or more of these holiday-themed artworks. Proceeds from the auction will be donated to either a local charity that provides additional support to the local art community or to a charity of the artist’s choosing.
