Born in the Chui region of Bishkek, Yasmina Ruslanovna Dzhanbotaeva began her ballet training at the prestigious Bishkek Choreographic School in 2008 under the guidance of Kyrgyz Republic Honored Artist Aida Akhmadalieva. In 2018, she secured third place at the “Orleu” International Competition in Almaty and performed at the International Ballet Schools Festival in Yakutsk. Her talents continued to shine in 2019, placing second in the semi-finals of the YAGP competition. During her second year at the choreographic school, she joined the KNATOiB A. Maldybaeva troupe, where she is now a principal ballet dancer.
Her impressive repertoire includes lead and corps de ballet roles in classical pieces, such as Marie in The Nutcracker, Odette and Big Swans in Swan Lake, and Queen of the Dryads in Don Quixote. She has also portrayed Phrygia in Spartacus and performed in Corsair, Fountain of Bakhchisaray, Giselle, and La Bayadère. Yasmina has demonstrated exceptional versatility, performing in national ballets like Cholpon and the ballet-oratorio Mother’s Field, bringing both classical and culturally rich pieces to life on stage.
