What Are You Thankful For?

Nov 20, 2019

Moscow Ballet’s three Great Russian Nutcracker dance companies hit the road Nov. 1 to the delight of audiences across the country and Canada. We are thankful for our patrons who support the Great Russian Nutcracker and are responsible for its continued growth.

From dance studio owners and teachers who support the “Dance with Us” program by holding auditions at their studios, to loyal patrons and the press, rave reviews have been pouring in.

“I don’t know if you noticed…, but the website for the Moscow Ballet’s version of ‘The Nutcracker’ is just www.nutcracker.com. That ought to tell you something about the company’s version of the show; it is THE ‘Nutcracker,’ the standard by which all others are judged. Perhaps only Tchaikovsky himself is more associated with this ballet than this company is. Not that you should go see it simply for its pedigree; it’s also a wildly colorful and high-flying show with over-the-top set design and choreography juxtaposed against elegance and precision.”

– Pat Muir, Yakima Herald, Yakima, WA

“I saw the performance of the Moscow Ballet Great Russian Nutcracker. Although I was not directly involved with the rehearsals or performances, I wanted to say how impressed I was. The Moscow Ballet dancers were fabulous, generous, and joyful. I loved the stage sets and costumes! The company transformed the theater and gave our community a real gift. It was truly among the best Nutcrackers I have seen. I am so proud that the Spector Dancers were able to have this outstanding opportunity. We hope to work with you again in the future.”

– Fran Spector Atkins, Artistic Director and Founder, SpectorDance, Monterey, CA

“The show was absolutely wonderful. Rave reviews and comments from the crowd. Looking forward to next year and many after that.”

– Wesley A. Payne, Ph.D., President, Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff, MO
